I picked a random spot, and backed up to the beginning of that witness' testimony. Page 2058. The name of the witness is not revealed. Nor is her address or age. But she was a direct eye-witness to Brown's shooting from the 2nd floor of the apartments nearby.
She clearly describes Brown as walking back to Wilson with his hand raised to head height and Wilson continuing to approach and fire at Brown until Brown falls dead.
Nothing threatening. Nothing aggressive. No charging at the officer. But the cop just kept shooting.
Pretty strong compelling evidence.
Then for the next 20 or so pages, the prosecutors, yes, the prosecutors, nitpick at every detail of her story. They do a staggering good impersonation of defense lawyers protecting their client.
Obviously I haven't had time to read all 4799 pages, but if this is typical, then it's no surprise that the jury failed to indict. The prosecutors were doing their damnedest to ensure they wouldn't.
Let's crowdsource this and find other examples of prosecutors doing the job of defense.
