This week there were two major marriage equality rulings. Federal judges ruled in favor of marriage equality in Arkansas and Mississippi. You can read more about these rulings here.
In Texas, the plaintiffs in that marriage equality case filed a motion to have the stay lifted on the district court's ruling.
The Ninth Circuit has denied NOM's request to have the Oregon marriage equality case heard en banc (an eleven judge panel rather than three).
In Missouri, the district court judge denied the plaintiffs' motion to have the stay lifted on that favorable marriage equality ruling.
In Kansas, the ACLU has amended its complaint to have additional state and county officials included as defendants in that marriage equality case. This is because some counties are still denying marriage licenses to same-sex couples, and state agencies are refusing to recognize marriages of same-sex couples.
In Mississippi, the state defendants have appealed that marriage equality case to the Fifth Circuit, and have also requested an extended stay (pending appeal).
The Finnish Parliament has approved marriage equality legislation (by a slim majority). Finland is the twentieth nation to grant its citizens the freedom to marry.
As always, the actual filings and rulings are provided in the links within the tweets below the fold.
