The Montana Auto Museum is housed in the Old Montana Prison in Deer Lodge, Montana. The museum displays more than 150 automobiles. Shown below are some of the automobiles from the 1960s which are on display.
Ford:
Shown above is a 1963 Ford Galaxie XL. The designation “XL” means nothing more than “extra lively.” It sold for $3,270.
Shown above is a 1963 Ford Thunderbird. It sold for $4,548.
Shown above was supposed to be a 1965 Ford Falcon Futura. The photo has mysteriously vanished and been replaced by a Nash Metro! Instead of deleting this photo, I have left it in as there are comments on it.
Shown above is a 1965 Ford Falcon Futura. The Ford Falcon was produced from 1960 until 1970. It sold for $2,200.
Shown above is a 1966 Ford Mustang. The Mustang was first introduced in 1964 and became Ford’s most successful model since the Model A. The 1966 Mustang sold for $2,416.

Shown above is a 1969 Ford Mustang Grande. It was considered Ford’s mini-Thunderbird.

Shown above is a 1969 Plymouth Road Runner. This is a budget-priced, mid-sized car with a big engine and a beep-deep horn.
Dodge:
Shown above is a 1969 Dodge Super Bee 383. It sold for $3,138.
Shelby Cobra:
Shown above is a replica of the 1965 Shelby Cobra.
Buick:
Shown above is a 1964 Buick Wildcat. The Wildcat was produced from 1963 to 1970. It sold for $3,327.
Volkswagen:
Shown above is a 1962 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia. It sold for $1,500 to $1,600.
Shown above is a 1967 Volkswagen Beetle.
Shown above is a 1968 Volkswagen Van.
Quandt Group:
Shown above is a 1967 Amphicar Model 770. This was a non-military amphibious vehicle which could go 7 miles per hour in water and 70 miles per hour on land (hence the 770 designation). Between 1961 and 1967, 3,046 of these vehicles were imported to the United States (about 90% of all built). U.S. government regulations stopped further imports in 1968 and the German factory closed.
