Passing legislation on a tight deadline--especially a bogus deadline--is invariably a formula for serious mischief. That's what's happening with a proposal to deal with a supposed crisis in worker pensions by allowing trustees to slash the pensions of already-retired workers to shreds..
Michael Hiltzik in the Los Angeles Times has a very upsetting piece in today's paper about the plot to undermine pensions of many already retired workers.
If you are like me, you had no idea this batch of lame ducks was even thinking about screwing with pension funds.
But here it comes, and Hiltzik makes it clear we have to act now or many of us will have a great deal to lose.
I suggest you read the whole thing and then call and/or email your member of congress AND Elizabeth Warren AND Bernie Sanders AND the White House.
We can't let this happen !
