I have this sick feeling in my stomach, have felt it for a while now. Months, maybe years. I feel like it is 2003-2004 all over again, the time when there was only a year or so before Bush got re-elected. An awful time. When It felt everything was going wrong, and then it just got even worse, with Bush' re-election.
The time when I - and so many people like me - looked up to the Democrats to stand up, get in the fight, do something, at least say something! The time when we got NOTHING to even remember the D's of 2003-2004 by. But we sure remember the "Swift Boat", with which Karl Rove single-handedly tanked the charismatic, intelligent, to-the-point D candidate, Mr. Kerry, and delivered a re-election to the "village idiot" (as we knew him), Mr. Bush.
That's how sick I'm feeling now, and have been for a while. I feel like we've been swift-boated again, because we are! Just look at the pathetic Dem line-up for the 2014 midterms. Democrats who tried to "distance" themselves from President Obama and the Democratic party, too! Why? Because Republicans said it was "bad to be perceived as an Obama supporter". WT F-ing F*ck?! Republicans said it was basically "bad to be perceived a Democrat. Period". And our darling Democrats obliged: they tried to be less of "Democrats", and more of "Republicans". OOO-MMM-GGG!!!!
So, Republicans say "Democrats, Jump", and lo-and-behold, the Democrats actually jump! If this is not a circus of and for the deranged, I don't know what is. Really, seriously!
I was sickened by watching Mary Landrieu "distancing" herself from Obamacare. I was even more sickened by ML pushing FOR the Keystone XL. (And now she has the balls to complain about her being "a soldier left behind"? Ugh?!)
I was sickened by Allison Grimes' refusal to say who she voted for in the last Presidential Elections. What??? Are you now ASHAMED to have voted for Obama???!!! Shame on you, Allison! And good riddance!
I was ashamed of every single one of our D candidates trying to "distance" themselves from the "unpopular" President Obama: because Republicans said Obama was "unpopular", so, they said, anyone who is close to Obama must also be "unpopular". Like it's a high-school popularity contest. And our darling Dems fell for the high-school bullying tactics, and of course, they suck at it, so they all lost. Un-f-ing-believable!
And then, of course, we have our perennial Minority Leader in the House, who divides the left/liberal/progressives like a "hot knife sliced through the warm butter'. No unification-ing of leadership-ing of any kinds I expect from her, unfortunately. Thus, no real Leadership.
Even worse: let's see what we have on the Right:
1. We have the Inspirer-in-Chief (Dick "Darth Vader" Cheney), a very sick man who jus wouldn't die, but continues to inspire his minions even to this day!
2. The Chief Executive Officer - Karl Rove, who calls all the shots starting from who should be the candidates in the Republican primaries, to providing strategy as a whole for the R Party, and to each candidate individually (through well trained and well-funded proxies and surrogates)
3. The Financing Machine (the Koch brothers), to name just one. And of course, so many others.
So, they have their Inspirer, they have their CEO, the financiers, and well-picked teams of marching soldiers. They run the R party like a well-oiled Corporate Machine. Whereas us, the D's, have the "Occupy Wall Street" type of organization, so we refuse to even set SOME agenda because "we are not about just one agenda". Well, there we go, every time we cannot organize, we will be beat by mooks and boobs who ARE organized.
Where are OUR organizers, unifiers, coordinators, just people to herd us all together towards the common goals?! Where is OUR Democratic leadership?! Damn, the way things are going, we are going to have Bush III in the White House in 2016, and a R House, and a R Senate!
