Did I ever tell you about my pottery studio? I made a lot of drums as well as a funny pencil holder thing. Well,I have this GoFundMe page and since I'm not a big Facebook user I do not have an extensive network of "Friends" to help my funding requests go very far. The GoFundMe page is about me getting my old pottery studio off the ground again. Currently (Dec11) there is for sale on craiglist the complete contents of a well-appointed pottery studio offered for sale by a retired art teacher. I'm sure he would love a pre-holiday windfall as much as I would like to secure another income stream for myself. I have spoken with him on the telephone, he admits no one else has called about the gear yet.
So, I used to pay the bills by selling my pottery items, mostly stoneware dumbeks I put goatskin heads on. I sold mainly wholesale to music stores in and around Wisconsin.

And this
And this is something I had to figure out all by myself. Its top secret stuff in some circles. Try googling "dumbeks", and then phone them up asking "how to stretch the head?" and see how fast they clam up.
Long story short: I need to open new income streams (I am and always have been a potter {jim!}), and as fate would have it
some guy on craigslist just happens to be offering everything a shop needs. I did phone him, he says no one else has nibbled. I told him I would try crowd-sourcing and he says he hopes it works!
The generosity and magnanimity of the souls who empower this site is legendary, just as its political muscle ranks it among the movers and shakers of our modern world. An egregore, a ghost in the machine.
Hows that for buttering up?
