Why can't the NSA distribute The Interview
SONY is too chicken to release the film The Interview. OK, they have possible lives of employees at stake, and more important, millions of dollars of assets to protect. I get it. But we can never let a foreign power tell the American people what they can or cannot see - paraphrasing the President in his presser today.
Pres. Obama should take the next step. Order the Department of Justice to declare that a crime was committed by hackers and must investigated. DOJ subpoenas the film as part of the investigation, and turns it over to the CIA and the NSA to distribute it worldwide on VOD and download. They have the capability on their websites; it should not be hard for them to collect VOD fees and provide them to SONY.
Best of all, they can dare Kim Jung Un to try and stop them. Retaliation would be an act of war against our government, for which we have not only justification to respond, but lots of ways to do it.
The American people get to see the film. SONY gets the proceeds of the VOD (less costs. Other dictators and hackers are told that they cannot censor the US. and the CIA and NSA do something useful for a change
