With the Repugnants taking control of the U.S. Senate, and with ravenous House members empowered by their growing majority, it came as no surprise that priority on the House agenda would be advancing harmful bills that have been stagnating in either body, creating new equally deviant bills, and/or amendments that serve to advance the GOP's global agenda. Every time I see another headline describing the latest and greatest GOP stunt, I say, "doesn't the GOP get it?" "They're going to pay dearly." "How do they expect to drum up any votes come election time." The obvious follow up is, just how is it, that they plan to win elections? But for the Tea Party puppets currently occupying congressional posts, that's the least of their worries. They know come election time their spin will be so refined and so well funded, that they only need to serve "he who funds," in order to maintain themselves in perpetual reelection.
The party of NO has been lying to the American people since way before Citizens United, but Citizen's United has afforded the luxury to make huge ad buys on radio, television, Internet and print that serve to brainwash Americans. It doesn't matter what devastation might be dealt by the GOP prior to election time, because, come show time, they are heavy hitters. The ads are so constant and so intrusive in our every day lives that we become so saturated that we either get totally turned off with the entire concept of voting, or purposely tune out the political noise eventually remaining in absentia. The real crisis occurs when the ads cause our minds to become corrupted with Republican manure. Essentially the saturation of the airwaves and print is a very expensive brain washing of the viewer/voter.
The Latinos by and through their failed leaders and poor activism are led into the same trap. The GOP actively targets the Immigrant community for annihilation, and you find yourself with Dreamers lending credibility to the likes of Marco Rubio in hopes of getting some sort of political bone, preferably the "Dream Act". Time and time again I've watched Latinos support Republican candidates or Republican operatives. In Arizona during some of the most crucial moments in civil rights history as we fought SB1070 and other anti-Immigrant legislation, you had Lydia Guzman (currently serving as LULAC's Immigration point person in Arizona) heading a telephone line called Respect/Respeto for a Republican who donated heavily to the GOP and McCain who just happened to be the grandson of the founder of Carl's Jr. and current owner of over 50 Carl's Jr.s. Lydia Guzman served as the front man for a Republican for God's sake, and the entire time she was billed by Spanish language television (Univision and Telemundo) as an advocate for the Immigrant Community. Jason Levecke the Republican employer and Latino puppet master sought to protect his ASSets by fighting Arizona's employer sanction law, however in all the raids that Levecke sent Lydia Guzman on (there were dozens) she did nothing to stop the workplace raids that led only to the arrests of the employees allegedly utilizing fake IDs and fake Social Security numbers and never the employer, the culprit, the very same ones Guzman and Levecke were protecting. Guzman did however successfully serve as a legal case bird dog for the criminal and immigration attorneys that waited like vultures for the family members at the respective consulates with the intent of "informing them of their relatives' rights under Arizona and Federal law," securing cases worth hundreds thousands of dollars collectively over the time frame of the workplace raids. This is just one example of the confusion, lack of information and outright lies and deception that the voter, whether Latino, white or any other ethnicity encounters in their electoral journey.
So it comes as no surprise that the GOP didn't blink twice when they passed legislation with the intent to gut Obama's executive orders that grants relief to millions of Immigrants currently hiding in the shadows. The Republicans in the House are seeking retroactive application of this legislation, all the way back to 2012. The year they took an ass whooping at the polls. No, the Republicans aren't worried, not one bit, just look at the way they walk around with that stiff upper lip looking down their nose at you as if, thinking different than them, makes you less of an American. The Republicans are clearly winning the game. They have sufficient operatives, puppets and traitors that will couple well with the millions of dollars available from "civic minded" private interest.
