It is much easier to get the drones to do my bidding after I got that pesky government off my back.
How many times have we heard that slogan from the right, that
government should just get out of the way of business and let them do what they need to to create jobs and a vibrant economy? Okay, let's get government out of the way of business. No more of those pesky regulations and taxes. Just let business do its thing with zero government interference. Yep, just a good ol' American can-do attitude, a little elbow grease, and some sweat on the brows of workers and our economy will be booming in no time.
First though, we need to make sure government is totally and completely out of the way. I would hate to see an American business be hindered in any way by government, so going forward no business can use any roads paid for with tax dollars. If you need to get your goods to market you will need to negotiate with landowners and build your own roads. YOu also need to provide your own law enforcement on these roads and for all of your locations. Can't have government get in the way, you know.
If you need air transport of any kind you will, of course, have to build your own airport This includes all current air carriers; no more using those pesky municipal airports with all their onerous air traffic control rules. Yep, the FAA, NTSB, and other government agencies are going to stay out of the air travel business. You will get to your destination in no time, if you arrive at all.
No more of those socialist fire departments either. If there is a fire in the break room of your factory you better have your own fire department. Barring that, a working sprinkler system, but you probably didn't install that as it was not required, as businesses are no longer bound to follow building codes. I bet that fire extinguisher works—no, oh yeah, no fire inspections anymore, and you laid off Bob, the guy who made sure you complied with government safety regulations. Guess you should have checked that extinguisher before the fire. Oh well, there is always next time.
Head below the fold to see how else life would be different for your business with no government intervention.
I hear the ships carrying your cargo to international customers keep getting hijacked. Did you ever think of creating your own Navy? A couple of aircraft carriers and maybe a destroyer or two could protect your cargo. It is a little pricey, but I bet you and a couple of other businesses could get together and fund a Navy.
What's that, your workers cannot read the manuals on how to operate the machinery you purchased? Sorry, it is not the government's responsibility to provide an education to everyone that thinks they need one. Besides, who can afford to maintain schools these days? Maybe you should set up a school at your business and train your employees (and their children) yourself. That way you can make sure that they don't learn anything about unions or get the notion that they are equal to you in any way.
Your vendor didn't follow through with the terms of your contract? Your customers are not paying you? Too bad there isn't a court system you could use. Maybe you could try sending some tough guys over with baseball bats and bust some kneecaps. I hear that has great results, granted, once they regain consciousness they may retaliate with their own tough guys. Hope you have a good health plan—oh, you have a pre-existing condition, and no one will insure you? That is really too bad. Speaking of health plans, how do you plan to get to the hospital in case of emergency? Do you have an ambulance on site with trained medical professionals onboard? You don't? Really? You might want to put that cigarette out, lose a few pounds, and lay off the fried foods.
None of those ungrateful employees who live downstream from the factory discharge pipe showed up for work today? Their water was poisoned? That is too bad. I wonder what caused all that water to be poisoned. It has happened every time you dump waste water into the river, but there cannot be any connection. You are a responsible business owner; You would never do anything to harm anyone would you?
Good thing you don't have to pay your workers that pesky minimum wage anymore. Paying them a dollar a day is helping your bottom line. It is a good thing, too, because sales are at an all-time low. It is like no one has any money to purchase anything. I wonder why that is?
