January 21st marks the 5th anniversary of the SCOTUS Citizens United decision. Which is why, across the country, people are taking to the streets to demand the decision be overturned. After five years of watching our democracy unravel at the hands of corporate interest and greed, people have had enough.
In Washington DC, there will be a rally at the Chamber of Commerce, since they were last year’s largest campaign contributor. An enormous and diverse coalition of over 100 progressive, labor, women’s, faith, environmental and civil rights groups, just to name a few, will be in attendance. To RSVP to join the rally starting at noon in Lafayette Square click here.
If you are not in the DC area, you can find an event close to you by clicking here.
Five years is long enough. The people are speaking out in the form of over 5 million petition signatures and dozens of events across the country. Hopefully you can join them and make your voice heard.
