Mayor Thomas F. Williams, mayor of Norwood, Ohio, recently sent the following letter to the Norwood police department.
His letter starts with the following:
With recent events across the country, I feel compelled to express my thoughts in writing as police officers across the country are under attack by race baiting black activists and cowardly elected officials.
I checked and sure enough Thomas Williams is the actual mayor of Norwood, not just some guy who is really popular on Foursquare.
It's a bit unclear which officers were attacked and what injuries they suffered. Full letter below.
Mayor Williams also let officers know:
Let it be known that, God forbid, something controversial would happen, I WILL NOT ABANDON YOU.
Yes ... please don't let anything controversial happen. I stand against anything controversial as you can tell because I invoked the big G--.
(But just sayin'. If something did, like you 'eff up and shoot someone, don't worry about it. I'm with you. *wink* *wink*)
Thomas F. Williams is also known for opposing naming the Norwood Lateral after President Barack Obama and for his steadfast support of curbside leaf pickup.
My question for Mayor Williams is simple: Are you in favor of police killing unarmed people?
If you're against killing unarmed people, then you're on the same side as black leaders and elected officials and just about everyone else in the world including most police departments. There really are no "sides" here.
I hope to have a chance to ask the Mayor of Norwood. He's been invited to the United Methodist Church Circles of Grace conversation on Monday, January 26th from 6-9 pm at New Vision United Methodist Church. 4400 Reading Road, Cincinnati, OH 45229
If you happen to live in the area, please stop by and voice your support.
