Hey everyone!! How are you? I thought I reach out to dailykos for a support group. I am a medical student who has made it close to finishing second year. I take boards in end of May and I looking forward to the future with optimism, hope, and yet wary of the difficulties coming towards me.
Even though I only have "mild" impairments and I have been getting the therapies and safety that I need to get more support, living with undiagnosed Asperger's syndrome plus all the mental illnesses/stigma almost destroyed my life. I was barely surviving.
I had to overcome so much on my own in an world that is beyond corrupted and hostile to us Aspies. I was midiagnosed as ADD. Thankfully, it is a miracle i did not end up homeless or kicked out of an institution.
Introduce me to yourselves!! And i would appreciate support resources. Asperger's can't be cured (neither than lots of other stuff). But we especially have it so hard since we are "normal" in some ways but "extremely struggling" in other ways. But we "don't look like we are in a crisis" and we are left to be invisible physiologically, emotionally, socially, financially and psychologically.
What we can do to educate the world to make it safer for us?
