You know how sometimes one thought leads to a chain of unanticipated connections? Given the level of writing and discourse and community here, it seems safe to say that applies to many of you.
Any who ... I was reading yesterday's post from teacherken, No I have neither disappeared nor quit Daily Kos. Do you get that small jolt when you see a new diary from himself show up on the list? No doubt that's true. After time (only a short time is needed, really), the topics, the thought and eloquence make the most positive impressions.
After reading TK's latest update, and going through the comments, my mind crossed over to the recent diaries by akadjian on self-publishing. As well as the many people whose writing and commentary we miss.
So, tell me if this is too far off the wall and outside the box:
Would it be of benefit to TK and Mrs TK to offer time and resources to collect and cull through his contributions and observations, maybe put something together for publication on the various topics of education, relationships, social issues, and such?
Something that might "spread the word", share the wealth he's been kind enough to share with us, and perhaps allow them some additional benefit? I know it's not the reason he writes here; it just seems a worthwhile effort, and (compared to so many that profit from the sale of their nonsense) there doesn't seem to be any reason TK shouldn't get some benefit from his observations.
So, talk among yourselves, see what you think. It's my place to just initiate the dialog. I'll step outside...
[Truth be told, it's also a need on my part to hopefully make some small positive contribution for someone else's benefit and some of my karma straightened out.]
