Scott Walker's Innovative Approach to the Student Debt Crisis
Preview of the First Presidential Campaign Commercial:
“I Scott Walker, en I approve this message."
(Voiceover)With student debt out of control and limiting the power of graduates to participate in the economy Scott Walker proposed an innovative solution.
He froze tuition increases at the University of Wisconsin, and then cut its budget by $300 million. This has limited the number of majors available, and reduced the number of students able to attend. By undercutting faculty pay, the best professors have moved to out of state bastions of liberalism.
Wisconsin taxes no longer have to support frivolous research into climate change, energy alternatives, fresh water research, etc. He has taken a preeminent public research university, and made it completely unattractive to many potential students. That way fewer students are being burdened by economy killing student loans.
Scott Walker knows the value of a college education, and demonstrates it through his innovative vision to alleviate the looming student debt crisis facing Wisconsin and the Nation.
