Every year, up to 200 people in Canada die of cold.
They freeze to death.
Many of them are children.
The most common reason these children die is because they get up early, before anyone else, take a look out a window, see snow and go outside to play.
Many times they do this at night, when temperatures are the lowest.
Yesterday a three year old child froze to death in my city.
Today, police found another three year old with no clothes on hovering near death.
Fortunately, they were able to save his life.
If you live in a northern winter zone, where the snow falls and water freezes, it can take only minutes to go from alive to dead; especially if you are a child.
People....
If you have small children; Lock. Your. Doors. Put a chain lock on or a difficult to open lock that a small child could not manage.
Keep them locked.
I am tired of hearing of children freezing to death every winter.
