Greetings, and welcome to another Fuzzy Friday open thread for the Street Prophets group.
Any and all are welcome to post their news, share their views, dance on the pews, kick off their shoes and relax.
As for myself, I'll be going off-grid as the young 'uns say. A few days among mountains, big mountains, hunting for snowflakes. I won't be staying in a place with WiFi, no wall socket broadband to plug into, and I've never really wanted to be able to access the internet from my mobile phone-- not at these prices anyway.
So, I'll leave you with the keys-- and yes, that odd, old fashioned one on the end is the key to the liquor cabinet. I think there's still a half a bottle of caraway seed liquor, about half a shot's worth of good vodka and two bottles of apple schnapps in there. The gin, tequila and the good white rum are all conveniently kept next to the fridge. The whiskeys are somewhat harder to find. They're up on that high shelf above the stove, tucked behind the wok. Oh, and the beer is well, oh, Easter is nearly here-- just look around.
We're pretty well stocked for beverages. I left some instant coffee out next to the teas by the electric er, what do you call that thing in English? I think of a "kettle" as being a thing for heating water, but that electric contraption seems to be mostly plastic and somehow "plastic kettle" sounds like an item on the list of contents on the back of the box for the Deluxe Lil' Princess Tea Set. And it's not even pink.
Fizzy wet stuff and juices are keeping cool on the balcony.
Otherwise, the tap water in these parts is potable.
Plenty of stuff around to snack on. I think I left 5 olives in a jar in the door of the fridge, next to the three unfinished jars of jam that might be getting a little hairy. Heh, actually, you'll find a fresh pan of brownies on the counter, assorted chips, sticks, dips and salsas are just waiting to be discovered, the veggie drawer is so packed that it was difficult to close-- okay, so it's mostly potatoes, but there's celery, carrots, cucumber and what might be lettuce. I'm pretty sure it's lettuce...
Feel free to turn on the stereo. There's about 300 hunks of vinyl and a similar number of CDs to browse through-- should be something for everyone in there, but if you're still unhappy with the selection you can always yell over to the whippersnappers across the courtyard and ask them to open their window. I'll have to have a word with them about speaker placement one of these days...
Make yourselves at home. I told our neighbor who is coming down to feed the rats and spiders to expect company.
Oh, and no swimming in the moat. It's probably too cold to really tempt you anyway-- I know, but, even if I feed Moatsie before I go, he does like a little nibble now and then.
Please leave a message after the sound of the beep.
Beep!
