Tonight's guest on The Daily Show is Robert Smigel and the guest on The Nightly Show is Bill de Blasio with the topic being New York City.
Robert Smigel is an actor, humorist, comedian and writer known for his Saturday Night Live "TV Funhouse" cartoon shorts and as the puppeteer and voice behind Triumph, the Insult Comic Dog. The Daily Show schedule says he is on to talk about
Night of Too Many Stars
“Thank you for coming out on an unbelievably s----y cold night,” Jon Stewart told the crowd at the sold-out Beacon Theater. “I applaud you for coming out tonight, because I would not have.”
The “Daily Show” host was emceeing the comedy benefit “Night of Too Many Stars,” which has raised $18 million-plus for autism education and support programs since 2003.
Saturday’s show featured Jon Bon Jovi doing an acoustic version of “Wanted Dead or Alive” with backing vocals from Al Roker, Gilbert Gottfried, Will Forte and Triumph the Insult Comic Dog.
'Night of Too Many Stars' autism benefit draws Jon Stewart, Sarah Silverman, other celebs and lots of laughs
I figure he will also be talking about his new show on Adult Swim,
The Jack and Triumph Show. Strangely I have yet to see it despite watching the channel frequently. However, Jack and Triumph paired up on Conan before and it was hysterical. The set up is that Conan sends the nicest person he can think of (Jack McBrayer) to the Weiner's Circle in Chicago. The Weiner's Circle is a local landmark, known for the staff being very rude to the customers. After Jack gets pushed around by the staff, he returns with his friend Triumph. :O The segment is about 8 minutes and long and worth watching.
Bill de Blasio
is an American politician currently serving as the 109th mayor of New York City. From 2010 to 2013, he held the citywide office of New York City Public Advocate, serving as an ombudsman between the electorate and the city government. He formerly served as a New York City Council member, representing the 39th District in Brooklyn, which contains Borough Park, Carroll Gardens, Cobble Hill, Gowanus, Kensington, Park Slope, and Windsor Terrace. De Blasio, the Democratic Party nominee for mayor of New York City in the 2013 election, defeated Republican Joe Lhota with more than 73 percent of the vote. De Blasio is the first Democratic mayor of the city since David Dinkins was in office from 1990 to 1993.
