A soft read on a political day.
We recently adopted/rescued a Golden Retriever via rescued Love From Taiwan. Our little guy knew no English but instantly loved and trusted us. He is very affectionate, hungry, and shy. He is thought to be six years old.
Of course, we don't know his history, how often or what he ate. But he trusted us instantly. He is very shy of our Standard Poodle Amelie and does not infringe on her turf. Jinbao (gin-bow) is his name.
Maybe his awareness of coming to us is similar to arriving at heavens gate. No matter what we call the hereafter, heaven, paradise, nirvana, happy hunting ground, we too will be exposed to the unknown. Will we be cautious, shy, emotionally lost but excited? Will we need a month a month or two to find our way? Will we foul the carpets and floors until we learn where to go potty? How could we possibly feel and different than Jinbao does?
He seems to know he will no longer be hungry, thirsty, left in foul weather or without love. Can we, here and now, impart this caring to others of our world? Can we care and share and avoid things that divide us? Can we start by adopting a lost creature?
Will we reap what we sow in the hereafter? Can we hate, fight, starve, kill, despise and still be rescued from the toils of earth?
Rescue a dog, then rescue a person, and maybe rescue your soul!
