Andrea Irwin, Mother of Mr. Robinson said, "My son has never been a violent person, and to die in such a violent, violent way, it baffles me. I hope not, not to the extent of the vandalism and the crimes that took place and the physical violence, I don't want that. But do I hope that this whole city stands up and turns around and says that this is not OK and we're not gonna take that? Absolutely."
Mr. Robinson graduated from Sun Prairie High School in 2014. After the shooting last night, a crowd of demonstrators and organizers from the Young, Gifted and Black Coalition (see statement) gathered at the scene and formed a line across Few Street. Last night police shut own the 1100 block of Williamson Street.

Lorien Carter is an aunt to Mr. Robinson. She spoke, saying he is "a beautiful young man, gentle,” and “He did not deserve this.” The family was encouraging peaceful protest. “Don’t give them the excuse” to minimize his death, Ms. Carter said. “Protest peacefully, please, but protest ... don’t let it be in vain."
