Last night's episode of Anthony Bourdain's show "Parts Unknown" on CNN may have been the best look at Iran I've seen on Iran on any network. Just as it often takes a comedy show to get an honest look at American politics, this show notionally about food was the first honest show about Iran and Iranians. Serious press outlets return to John McCain and Lindsay Graham whenever the subject comes up. Many Americans only thought on the place is "bomb, bomb, bomb Iran." This is the first time Ive seen someone go to Iran, talk to ordinary Iranians, and look at how they live and what they are thinking. It is clear that the Iranians seriously want peace, the sanctions have worked, and that the time is ripe for a rapprochement. Given how badly the Republicans would like to go to war against them, this episode should be must watch television for all Americans
