Welcome to Sunday All Day Brunch. This is an open topic thread so help yourself to the goodies and sit a spell and let us know what is new with you. The three most used electronic devices by me are my computer, my cell phone, and my Walkman MP3 player. Although I love all three the most valuable for me personally is the MP3 player. I have to have my music. I've got it on my replacement list since its 8GB are pretty much used up.
You can tell a lot about me as a person by looking on my MP3 player. The most played songs are from Les Miserables. I also have Cats and Phantom of the Opera on there. I have a lot of show biz music from Roger Whitaker, John Barrowman, and Josh Groban. I majored in theater and musical theater is one of my big loves.
In spite of growing up during the Beatles era I don't have that much rock and roll on the player. I have some U2 and some older groups like the Moody Blues. Most of what gets classified as rock is really more of the softer pop like Neil Diamond, Air Supply, the Association, Roy Orbison, etc. I will admit to having ABBA's Greatest Hits. It is a fun way to clean the house.
What I have been putting on lately though is classified as New Age. A lot of the music now has an Asian feel. Someone once told me I had an Asian soul which explained my love of Asian food and art. I also have a lot of Celtic music.
The MP3 player helped me cope with the deaths of my Mom and brother Mike. It got me through cleaning and selling my parent's home. It helps me now as a caregiver.
I have been battling insomnia for quite a while now. My MP3 player has been very important to me. Instead of watching the numbers change on the clock I put on my headphones and listen to music. Usually after about an hour of so I can go to sleep.
So that is some of what is one my MP3 player. Now it is your turn. Do you have a player and if so what music do you have on it?
