I don't think I mentioned that my doctor said I was a bit bloated while she was checking me over. I decided to see what would happen if I used some digestive enzymes for a while (they being readily available, and me being not allergic).
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!
What happened is that my belly is flatter (in just over a week) and the pains in my back at about the level of my waist are rapidly disappearing. I need to continue my efforts to improve my life, but what I've started doing is beginning to work.
My mother was very pleased to hear there were no blood clots involved in the edema. Apparently, women in her family (of which I am one) have a tendency to develop them. I need to see if the test for the blood factor involved has been done - I think so, but I'm not sure.
We have two students already arranged for the summer in the lab where I work. This could get interesting, since we are apparently going to have to move the lab clear across campus before the end of June. O frabjous day! Guess who will get to do most of the packing.
People have left for the ACC meetings, which are going on now in San Diego. I expect them back on Tuesday. No corrections needed on any of the posters - nice, but decidedly unusual.
We got the notices about the American Society of Echocardiography abstract acceptances on Friday. We submitted 10 - six were accepted for poster presentation. I believe the meetings are in June. In Boston.
I've been listening to audiobooks on hoopla again. The first six or so of the Daisy Dalrymple mysteries are available, and I've checked out the first two. I own all of them in hard copy, but it is fun listening to them.
When my alarm went off on Friday, I found I had about 10 minutes to get ready, instead of the hour or so that's usual. I made it. When I checked after getting home, it looked as if something I had done had reset things so the clock thought it was Saturday. I stopped at a Radio Shack and got a plain alarm clock, so if the clock radio I have been using starts acting up again, I will have a simple and effective replacement.
I had a chiropractic appointment on Saturday. I drove THE CAR. Is okay. I'll live with it. I will get another MINI Cooper as soon as I possibly can.
