Who wrote Cotton's letter?
I try not to fall for conspiracy theories, but certain chains of events leave me asking whether they are connected and why.
Somehow, a freshman Senator CONvinced 46 hardboiled Republican Senators to sign on to his really bad idea. As if they didn't know how out of bounds it was, how close to treason, how near to violating the word and the spirit of the Logan Act and two centuries of tradition.
And this came just days after the stunning breach performed by the House in hosting Netanyahu in an effort to derail the Iran/P5+1 talks.
That was touted as a display of naked partisanship. Well maybe. But, put together with The Letter, it starts to look like a campaign.
I'm not even sure Cotton has the brains or the education to write such a letter and I'm sure that he, on his own, doesn't have the clout to round up that kind of (nearly) unanimous acceptance. McConnell can't get that kind of solid backing for funding the DHS, but Cotton can get them all in line for treachery?
Something bigger is at play here.
Cotton scares me.
He's not what he seems. He is a tool of the MIC, guided by Bill Kristol. A Manchurian Candidate if you will. It seems like they are grooming him for a Presidential run, either this year or in 2020.
And this is part of the process of establishing his foreign policy chops(!).
Who is paving his way? Who got the #47 lined up?
