Nobody has yet mentioned this cheerful item on the activities of "The Evangelicals": Evangelicals Aim to Mobilize an Army for Republicans in 2016 - NYTimes.com
Now, we are oft assured that the right wing Evangelicals, and, in fact, the right wing Christians are a minority, anything from an insignificant majority to a small minority to a minority, of Evangelicals or Christians.
Naturally, the question arises --
If that is the case, where is our Evangelical army? Why are the self-styled liberal/progressive/moderate Christians not mobilizing to elect Democrats in 2016 and why have they not told the NY Times? Further, why have they not reminded the Times that they are the (vast) majority of Christians?
I had some concerns about including "moderate" above, because there is no assurance that they are pro-Democrat. Today, "Moderate" or "Centrist" has no meaning. "Conservative" has come to mean what "reactionary" used to, and all too often, that leaves classical conservatives being called moderate or centrist. But surely the Christian Left should be out there publicly pushing the Democrats (except maybe the Blue Dogs), should they not?
