So news has come out that Ted Cruz is the first major Republican to throw his hat in for the 2016 GOP presidential nomination. While the idea of Cruz becoming President should scare the ever-loving hell out of anyone with an IQ above 37, it’s pretty much like living in fear that llamas will learn to create weapons of mass destruction and begin using them on the U.S. mainland. Pro tip: It’s not going to happen.
But when it comes to smart Liberals, we sure are hoping he gets the Republican nomination.
Ted Cruz Won’t Be President
If you’re a praying man, or woman, immediately start asking God to let Cruz secure the Republican nomination. If you’re a betting man, or woman, cross your fingers that Cruz secures the nomination. It will make for a sure bet come November 2016.
Now some of you might think we’re saying this because you don’t think Cruz can constitutionally even hold the office of the presidency. After all, he was born in Canada. Unfortunately, he definitely could. The Constitution says that an individual must be a “natural born” citizen to hold the office. What this means, though, is that a person must be born with American citizenship.
Since Cruz was born to an American mother, even though it was in Canada, he is considered a natural born citizen. Don’t let this little fact rain on your parade, though.
