Where I live in Vallejo, California we have a Napa - Solano Central Labor Council that has an awards banquet every year to pay trubute to those that support Labor.

The event was held in Vallejo, California at the Mare Island Museum. I had a terrific time at the event talking to all my friends that attended. I would like to share with everyone some pictures I took and some text the event producers website.
Mare Island Museum
We had our 5th and by all accounts most successful Napa Solano Central Labor Council Spring Salute Awards Reception yet! Our largest crowd ever enjoyed a new venue, the Mare Island Historical Museum, Some of our best food ever, provided by retired Firefighter James Brunson, were graced by the presence of numerous elected officials and community leaders, and were able to honor a number of our Labor Siblings in style! U.S. Congressman Mike Thompson and Jon Riley our host for the evening
We were very lucky to have Congressman Mike Thompson, Assembly members Jim Frazier and Bill Dodd address the crowd and also have a little fun with yours truly and Jim once again played a great Dean to my Jerry! We have a lot of important issues facing our members and it is always nice to be able to have a little fun while we honor those that go above and beyond the call of duty. The only downside to the whole evening was the fact that Congressman John Garamendi could not make it due to the passing of his mother. I hope everyone takes the time to send our regards to John and his family in this difficult time. From the Napa and Solano Counties Central Labor Council Website
I am always amazed at the job our executive committee and volunteers do to put this function on every year, especially Brenda, Pete Derenale, Don Garcia, Rita Magner, Brett Risely, Dave Harrison, Mahdis Fathi, Angela Molina, Ken Miller, Troy Notrangelo, Troy Garland, Angelo Cellini, Tony McGrath, Dustin Baumbach and of course G Anthony Phillips who made we sure we had sound, lights and pictures! Also our hosts Joyce Giles and Tom Watson from the museum. I am always amazed at how we all assemble at the venue and it all comes together. This year was the best as we stepped it up a notch. I know I am forgetting people who helped make this a success and an event that made the award winners feel properly honored. From the Napa and Solano Counties Central Labor Council Website
