The driver who last November decided to drive around other stopped cars and push his way through a street crowded with people protesting the murder of Michael Brown will finally have to explain his actions to a court. Hennepin County prosecutors charged the St Paul resident with three misdemeanor charges after deciding that his actions did not warrant a felony prosecution.
Charges Filed
Jeffrey P. Rice, 40, of St. Paul, was charged in Hennepin County District Court with reckless or careless driving, careless driving and failure to avoid colliding with a pedestrian. He was charged by summons and has an April 14 court date.
And a shout out to Minneapolis' finest for their top notch detective work.
The report initially listed Rice as a “victim” and the injured girl under a category marked “other.” Later in the day, police changed the listing of Rice to “suspect.”
