“The world is starving for American leadership. But America has an anti-war president,” Boehner said during a Capitol Hill press conference on Thursday.
Yes, by labeling Barack Obama an 'anti-war' president, our House Speaker John Boehner admits he wants war, he's good with it, he's DOWN with it. Let's get this party started! Because the Iraq war, responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians and approximately 5,000 American troops - wasn't enough. No, let's send more of our youth into battle to kill and be killed. It's what we do! We'll show those terrorists. We'll show the world who's boss, just like Bush did with his inglorious 'War on Terror.' What a deciding victory that was.
I'm ashamed and disgusted (and still somewhat befuddled) that John Boehner is considered a leader in our American government. His presence and behavior could easily eat my lunch every day, if I let him. But I won't because I know in the Oval Office there is a powerful, intelligent, compassionate, and humble leader - a president who ultimately strives for peace. And I can sleep most nights, unlike the eight years prior when I'd lay awake feeling angry and helpless wondering how many more people would die, just to satisfy the insatiable ego and revenge of our last president, and the sociopathic and sadistic greed of our last vice-president. I can sleep a little better knowing this president, though his hands are not clean, is not vying for bloody combat. I can sleep better knowing this president is considered, by some people, to be 'anti-war,' and I can't imagine why anyone would consider that to be a bad thing - unless you are pro-war. And if you are pro-war, you and your ilk probably won't mind seeing the boots of your children, be the first to hit the ground in combat, yes? What's that, Mr. Speaker? You forgot to roll that tape to the end? Of course you did.
Once again, John Boehner shows us his true colors. In his continuous quest to tear Obama down, he often raises the President up higher in the eyes of the world. Wouldn't it be nice to see this House Speaker, just once, do something constructive for this country, and show, just once, he loves America more than he hates Obama? He talks about what Americans want all the time, as if he knows. But he doesn't. Because we don't want his fucking war. We don't want his acts of treason. We don't want his government shutdowns. We want a House Speaker willing to work for the people, not for power-hungry billionaires, corporations, and banks. We want a House Speaker willing to work for peace, not for war and war hawks. We want a House Speaker willing to accept that the fact that the American people voted President Barack Obama into office, twice. Deal with it.
Grow up, and do your job, John Boehner. Stop gambling with lives of others, with your seditious and dangerous games of war. Stop obstructing every chance this nation has of moving forward. You are not the leader of this country. You are more like a fool trying to come to grips with the fact that President Obama will be remembered in history for centuries, and you probably won't be remembered at all.
