Fox Business News Network is carrying a story by Charlie Gasparino that Citi Group has asked it marketing department to "spy" on Sen Elizabeth Warren so that it can answer back attack by Warren about banking practices and legislation.
Citi Group barely survived the 2008-9 financial meltdown and has be cited for serous misdeeds stemming from the meltdown.
Sen Warren has pushed for tougher regulations and more enforcement of Dodd Frank reform legislation, including the Volcker Rule requiring banks to increase and end risky banking practices.
It is not yet known whether the "spy" includes Watergate style practices.but Fox News does not use words like that lightly.
