I haven't seen a diary about this anywhere - probably because no one gives a crap, but Carly Fiorina says she is "higher than 90% sure" she's going to run for president. That's right, the failed and fired Hewlett-Packard CEO, and failed CA senate candidate who has been named to numerous "worst CEO" lists apparently seriously believes her fortunes will fare better on a national stage pitching her credentials as an executive to run the world's largest, and arguably most complex, economy.
I give her credit for thinking big. She's failed upward in the past, so I suppose why not give the presidency a shot? From her POV, what's the worst that can happen? She flames out like every other Republican candidate from the past 8 years, then goes on the lecture circuit to cash in. I suppose after a failed presidential bid, she can always move back to California and go for a trifecta of political failure by running for governor in 2018.
As the expression goes, "There's a sucker born every minute." 25% of the U.S. population thought W did a good job as President. Probably the same 25% who thought Sarah Palin was qualified to be POTUS. Surely there are 25% of Republicans who will help push her deep into the primary season. What else is there left to say? Run, Carly, run.
