A local Wichita news story about potential election fraud in the Kansas 2014 election caught my eye today. A lot of progressive friends had been posting links to the article and other commentary, pointing out that a local professor had found what is being termed a "voting anomaly" and is making public records requests to try to prove/disprove fraud. The most likely culprit it's believed is systemic bias in voting machines.
I conducted my own analysis of what she's looking at.. and confirmed the anomaly, but I don't believe it's strong evidence of fraud. Here's my analysis: http://www.datasciencenotes.com/...
Essentially, I believe that other underlying demographic factors are likely to blame, and it is somewhat reckless to mention the word fraud publicly at this point.
