Greetings from Tucson
The weather here is windy and a little cool, not what we usually expect for this time of year, but I'm sure it will warm up a little by next weekend. Next weekend, of course, is the weekend of the 5th Annual Baja Arizona Kossacks Picnic. The Picnic will be held Saturday, May 2 at Garfield Park in Bisbee, starting at 2 PM.

First some news ...
This was at Phoenix New Times. There's an old joke about dumb congressmen: You think he's dumb, you oughta' see his constituents. Looks like that's the case here. A guy at a town hall wants answers on Chemtrails, video at the link. UofA hate-preacher Brother Dean has gone from shaming co-eds in Tucson to harassing Mosque-goers in Tempe, ➡ Alternet. Here's the profile Vice did on him last year:
Wanna' see our night blooming cactus ?
That was taken Friday night at about 3 AM. It starts opening at about 10 and isn't fully open until around sunrise. Seven blooms at once this year, cool huh ?
OK, the Picnic
Our announcement in Connect! Unite! Act! (Here) lists 8 RSVPs and 2 Maybees. I've still got Kosmails out and I'm hoping for a few more. (Anybody home in Sierra Vista?)
Since we're holding the Picnic at a public park, I guess pot-luck is the way to go. Bring something for yourself and a little extra, we'll see what we end up with. I'll bring some Korean BBQ and homemade Kimchi, a portable hibachi if necessary. Garfield Park is the largest park in Bisbee; 41,000 square feet, with 4 ramadas, a swing-set and a volleyball court. (Info Here) It's located on the north end of town on Tombstone Canyon Rd. at Pace Ave. You can't miss it. (Map here). Tucsonans should plan for a 1½ hr. drive, other locations adjust accordingly.
Alright then ...
We've got less than a week to go and I'm fired up for a road trip and a picnic with the smartest bunch of people I know. What's up with y'all ? Got your plans made ? Staying over or driving back ? What are you bringing ? Talk to me ...
