It is ironic to see the conservative right wing bashing the Baltimore prosecutor, Marilyn Mosby, for doing the right thing. They say she has no experience. Experience does not equal courage and she has courage. How many of our elected officials who have been in the system for long periods of time, have no courage to do the right thing? Most of them.
Attorney Mosby saw the crime loud and clear. A young man is taken into custody by six officers and ends up dead. Who is responsible? Maybe only one or two of the six officers but unless all were indicted, we would not get to the truth of the matter. A rush to judgment? How long does it take to know that a young man is dead after being taken by force by the officers? Not long. Attorney Mosby did the right thing by indicting these officers. The fact that she is new on the job shows that she had not been placed in the pockets of the Baltimore police department.
I make these observations as a senior member of the white community. It's time to start looking at our justice system and see how it can and should be fixed. She is making a great start to fixing our system by holding those officers accountable for their actions.
