Ben Franklin would weep today about his fellow Pennsylvanians' voting enthusiasm.
Here in a suburban Philadelphia county (Montgomery County, not in Philadelphia) with party primaries on the two parties' ballots today for 5 statewide judgeships, 3 county level judgeships, the entire school board membership, all county offices: county commissioners, District Attorney, Coroner, Sheriff, Treasurer, Controller, Clerk of Courts, Prothonotary, Register of Wills and Register of Deeds - only 2.6% of the registered voters had voted by noon, 5 hours after polls opened. That 2.6% is the combined total for both parties. The Republicans are voting in their (closed) primary in slightly higher percentage than the Democrats are voting in ours.
So discouraging.
