This is my plea to find a way to stop the execution of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev whether by the Appeals court or presidential commutation.
No punishment can bring justice to those he killed and maimed. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev didn't put any value on his life when he chose his role in the standard American movie where the only interesting powerful character is the tortured killer who dies in the final climax.
Some like Holly Baily of Yahoo News believe that there may be value in trying to understand this bomber to prevent future attacks.
It’s the allure of terrorism that we’re still trying to understand. McVeigh and the Tsarnaev brothers seemed to view their respective attacks as more than just a statement or revenge against the government. In their twisted worldview, terrorism was a path to redeeming their troubled lives, committing themselves to something that might actually make them somebody.
Twenty years after Oklahoma City and two years after Boston, we are still no closer to truly understanding how to stop terrorists like them.
But our country is awash shooters, bombers and their supporters. It has a thriving Cult of Death. As a youth I participated in
many bombings which killed hundreds.
The reason to refrain from executing him is not to spare his life, but to save our souls.
Start with the sayings I was brought up with below the fold and compare how the descendants of Viking raiders handle the same problem.
This one is still available for purchase on Tee Shirts:
The classic "Sometimes you have to destroy a village to save it." still applies. Here's a couple of pictures from Afghanistan in 2010.
Death is revered. To some the basis of our country is the holy second amendment from which all freedom flows.
After a decade in Vietnam killing many and enriching the arms industry we got Pho restaurants and many new observant Catholics. Another decade in the Middle East we now have hummus, felafel and new religions while killing many and enriching the arms industry. We do not control what goes on in Vietnam, and we will not be able to influence the events in Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia when we finally tire of this episode.
The last president most notable achievement before he was elected was a modern era record for executions signed off on by a governor (since surpassed by his successor). Even one of the current president's most bipartisan accomplishment the current was the killing of Ben Laden.
Our revered statesman Henry Kissinger, a conspirator in the original 9/11, advice is still sought by lawmakers on whom to kill.
Anders Breivik personally raised the murder rate in Norway from 0.6 per 100,000 people to 2.2 by committing the worst act of mass murder in the country since World War II.
In 2013 the United States recorded a record low murder rate of 4.5, seven times the historical Norwegian number. In one day he killed 77 people many of them children. For this he received a 21 year prison sentence with the possibility of extension. The death sentence is not an option in Norway.

The failure to kill him blasphemies the American death cult. Forty thousand Norwegians gathered in a square to mock Breivik with a song by Pete Seeger, an American opponent of death who was sanctioned by the United States congress and blacklisted from the airways. Breivik had said the song, My Rainbow Race, was "an example of how 'cultural Marxists' are infiltrating schools.
It's been four years since the tragedy in Norway. The murder rate is down to normal, Norway has not sent fleets of drones around the world killing those who fit the profile, life goes on without politicians begging for more executions and war. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev should be left to live out his life. Perhaps he will seen the error of his ways and as I was taught accept Jesus as savior and go to heaven, but it is not his soul that matters it is the soul of the United States which needs to end its obsession with killing.
