Lennon, pictured below, plays on the lawn while several thousand wait at the Minneapolis American Indian Center. Back in line her dad Jay wears a new Bernie Sander’s t-shirt. Lennon’s mom Denise likes Bernie’s positions on tax equality, and free tuition. The trio is looking forward to campaigning as a family.
“Bernie has been honest about the money in politics,” says Antisar from St. Paul. “Most people don’t understand the importance of the Citizen’s United decision. Bernie does.” She has participated in DFL precinct caucuses but would consider supporting Bernie further in the process this time "Obama is a stepping stone." She’s here with her mother.
Alex, from St. Paul is helping out near the main entrance. He campaigned door to door with his parents for Barak Obama in 2008. He was eight years old. “Sanders will be successful,” he says, “if people realize his true views, and stop using socialism as a mean word.”
