This is a very short diary, but I haven't seen another announcement yet.
The controversial sections of the Patriot Act expired at midnight EDT, because Mitch McConnell thought being majority leader made him all-powerful. Oops, Senator.
The Senate isn't through yet, and there are plans to pass the American Freedom Act this week if they can get Rand Paul to shut up long enough. I never thought I'd say these words, but hearty thanks to him for his part in this.
I don't know if they actually will pass the House bill this week; I hope not.
