"Magic Mountain was scary high!"
Proving that there is no issue big or small that he won't flip-flop on, Wisconsin Governor (and current contender to ride shotgun in the 2016 Republican clown car) Scott Walker is walking back his
comment from just last week that he probably couldn't compete in Florida:
"The neat thing about being around the country is that if we choose to get in, I don’t think there’s a state out there where we couldn’t play in, other than maybe Florida, where Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio are at least in some of the polls essentially tied," Mr. Walker said ...
But what Mr. Walker—who cited a 1971 visit to Disney World to emphasize how serious he was about Florida—really meant
was:
"Let me be clear: The media suggested I would do that," Mr. Walker said when asked about it by reporters after his remarks. Instead, he explained that he thought he could win anywhere in the country.
"The only pause I gave was in deference to two favorite sons here in Florida," he said [...]
"If I didn’t think I would compete, I wouldn’t be here today," Mr. Walker said.
So there you have it. When Scott Walker said he probably couldn't compete in Florida, the media totally twisted Scott Walker's words by reporting that Scott Walker said he probably couldn't compete in Florida.
(And we'll just ignore a 47-year-old man using the word "neat" to describe his electoral prospects to be the next president of the United States.)
