Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC)
Wasting no chance to dig for dirt, the House Benghazi Committee interviewed former Bill Clinton aide Sidney Blumenthal on Tuesday about emails he sent to then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton about Libya. One of the big Republican lines of attack against Clinton and her allies is that they're being secretive and withholding information, but now it's Benghazi Committee Republicans facing a challenge over secrecy, with committee Democrats
calling for them to release the transcript of Blumenthal's interview:
Democrats sent a letter to the panel's chairman, Rep. Trey Gowdy of South Carolina, saying the transcript of Blumenthal's testimony will provide "important background and context to his emails." The Associated Press obtained a copy of the letter.
Republican Benghazi Czar Trey Gowdy isn't saying whether he'll release the transcript—presumably he's trying to figure out how to do the most damage with it and will make his decision accordingly.
