CNN is reporting that Walmart will pull all HATE flags and HATE flag themed merchandise for sale in it's stores and on it's website:
First on CNN: Walmart to stop selling Confederate flag merchandise
Walmart is quoted from their statement:
"We never want to offend anyone with the products that we offer. We have taken steps to remove all items promoting the confederate flag from our assortment -- whether in our stores or on our web site," said Walmart spokesman Brian Nick. "We have a process in place to help lead us to the right decisions when it comes to the merchandise we sell. Still, at times, items make their way into our assortment improperly -- this is one of those instances."
CNN also notes that:
CNN asked Amazon and eBay whether they would remove Confederate flag merchandise from their sites. Neither company responded to repeated requests for comment.
Amazon has numerous pages filled with HATE flags and HATE flag themed items for sale.
Ebay, despite having an explicit policy against the sale of items that "promote hatred or racial supremacy including historic and current items" also has numerous items listed.
Maybe it's time to turn up the heat and start demanding their removal from all stores that don't wish to be stained and sullied by this symbol of racism, treason and HATE.
I NEVER, EVER shop at Walmart and hold them in some contempt, but kudos for doing the right thing without being forced or coerced.
