Well it sure didn't take long for so-called One Million Moms (more like 1000 moms) to bash Johnson and Johnson for their family friendly ad depicting same sex couples and their families.
Original diary
Some quotes from so-called One million Moms:
Tylenol is glorifying all modern family types by stating a family is based on love not traditional marriage, and then showing gay couples with their children. One Million Moms believes family is based on love, but this does not justify normalizing sin. 1MM does not agree with the need for Tylenol to support same sex marriages or couples.
There is nothing sinful about love but that never stopped these bigots from bashing every LGBT friendly company in sight!
Plus, Tylenol recently used a lesbian couple shown nose to nose in a printed magazine ad. It was included in Good Housekeeping June 2015issue on page 21, to name one example. At the bottom of the ad it states that Tylenol is a national corporate partner with the Human Rights Campaign.
YEAH, for Johnson & Johnson! They know equal treatment and equality under the law is the right thing to do, unlike
One million Moms!
Companies should advertise the quality of their products, or in this case, how and when to take a medication and why it works. They should not be highlighting who is attracted to whom or who sleeps with whom. This is a marketing decision Tylenol will regret.
Really
One Million Moms?!? They are not highlighting who sleeps with whom, they are simply recognizing that families with same sex couples are in fact equal to opposite sex couples! The fact that you think this is a bad thing is truly pathetic!
One Million Moms, kindly get over yourselves. You are on the losing side of history and on the wrong side of decency and fairness! As much as you want to, you will not turn the clock backwards!
And no, I don't think Johnson and Johnson will regret this at all. Do you honestly think they care what a bunch of bigots think?
You go ahead and stay in the 20th century while the rest of us move into the more enlightened 21st century! I promise, we won't miss you!
Update: Another user reminded me in a comment on this diary that the American Family Association (AFA) created this group. The AFA is listed as a Hate Group by the Southern Poverty Law Center.
Thanks for the reminder Margaret.
