Horror writer Stephen King has been
an unapologetic vocal critic of Maine Gov. Paul LePage in the past. This week, as hundreds of protesters rallied against LePage at Maine's State House, King took to Twitter:
This comes after
news earlier this month that, after a charter school was set to hire state House Speaker Mark Eves job as president, Gov. LePage threatened to withhold half a million dollars in funding unless the job offer was rescinded. Eves called this "blackmail" and is considering a civil suit, and now lawmakers in Maine's state House are talking impeachment.
In October 2014, King also penned an op-ed endorsing Gov. LePage's opponent Mike Michaud, writing that LePage had done a "lousy job." In March 2015, King called Gov. LePage out on Twitter for false accusations that King didn't pay his taxes, telling Gov. LePage to "man up and apologize."
Even if you're not a fan of King's books, you have to applaud his willingness to call out a bully like LePage on the regular.
