Dear: The South - When you fly that flag, this is what the rest of us see.
This 'Defense of Southern Heritage' I'm seeing lately really cheeses me off. "t's not racist - it's our Heritage!" just doesn't cut it. That flag is symbolic of a heritage of white supremacy, oppression, and hate.
So I thought, 'what if the flag more accurately conveyed its true 'heritage'? I went to work in Photoshop, and produced these five variations of the Confederate Flag that I think more accurately convey the Confederate Ideals. The first three feature an image of black skin with bloody lacerations (as from a whip) in the shape of a cross, overlaid with symbols of white supremacy in place of stars.
I was trying to produce something that will remind everyone what that flag really represents, so when these Southern Apologists see it, they will make the association, and maybe they will get it.
But probably not. Some people seem pretty resistant to reason.
