Kansas Republican John Bradford is no stranger to controversy. The Lansing Republican had previously made news by telling a blind constituent he had "read his email, I don't need it so I'm sending it back to you". But a Lawrence, Kansas Teacher put into the Kansas City Star this weekend other statements from John Bradford..
In which Representative John Bradford referred to "The Gay Disease" in front of students without knowing that several of the students traveling happened to be.. you got it, Gay and Lesbian. Whooops.
Representative Bradford's comments are not out of step with many Republicans. On Sine Die, Equality Kansas gathered in the rotunda of the capital to celebrate the USSC ruling on gay marriage and to support Valdenia Winn.
Republicans bustled through the building, including many who made deriding noises and commentary about the progressive crowd below.
This was noted by a moderate Republican disappointed by this behaviour:
Was Representative Bradford one of those who hissed or made crass comments about the effort in the capital that day? It's impossible to know... but considering his commentary to a student group, it is easy believe he would have concurred with what Rep. Clayton heard aloud.
