Lethal weapon, minus the revolver
I didn't think this could happen, yet I am not surprised. In less than 36 hours after reports of Mike Huckabee's outrageous Holocaust statement, a Fox Spews "pundit" (rhymes with racist, bigot, or complete asshole) Hasselback is blaming Sandra Bland for her arrest and violent take-down.
Blame the Victim. There seems to be no end to the Right Wing's growing moral depravity. I have already factored out Donald Trump's anti-Mexican rant, but certainly cannot condone what "Monster Mike" Huckabee said about marching Jews to the ovens.
Trump is expected to say outrageous things, this is nothing new--Donald is a well-known loose cannon.
But first Huckabee, then Hasselback, both with close ties to Fox Spews, have tipped the scales of impropriety so far to the bottom, it will take overwhelming stamina of those Republicans who still have moral fiber to correct this foul and malevolent Right Wing mindset.
Who amongst the Republican presidential candidates will have the integrity to outright condemn this horrible statement?
My guess is that none will unequivocally contest that bizarre, brazen slur on a woman who did not deserve to die for a misdemeanor traffic offense.
After writing the above portion of this diary, I came across a well-reasoned analysis of the distinction between lawful policing and proper policing, This above link is quire powerful in making the case, using logic, as to why this soon-to-be fatal encounter came to result in arrest, imprisonment, and ultimately death (murder?). This case is followed by yet another incredible (no--unfortunately believable murder of Mr. Dubose for another trivial traffic violation. Not having a driver's license or having a presumably open bottle of gin are not capital offenses--no one was injured by Mr. Dubose's driving.
President Obama, your eulogy at the funeral services for Clementa Pinkney was one of the most eloquent speeches I have ever heard. In fact, I have it downloaded onto my computer for future replays. Now, isn't it time that you took a stronger, yet principled stance on the EPIDEMIC OF POLICE RACISM? Sir, do this NOW! I am white, but I am sickened by this outrageous trend of unjustified murder of people of color.
