Someone asked me last night if there is anything planned yet for the pre-Rally timeframe of Sunday afternoon to early evening.
The event opens at 6 pm and commences at 7 pm, so there is plenty of time to do something as simple as meet at a local area restaurant or bar.
The Rally is at the Portland Memorial Coliseum, so the parking is bad to fair, the same as for most events which take place there. But if we attended a pre-Event MeetUp, then we could carpool to the actual event!
Is anyone interested in such a thing?
If so, please leave a comment and let me know if you have officially signed up to attend.
If you haven't, you can do so at the link on the Sanders campaign website.
It's only 6 days away, so we must be PROACTIVE in organizing ourselves for this event.
On a personal note... I've been trying to reach out to the Sanders campaign staff to get a moment of Bernie's time, as a candidate for the US House here in WA-03.
Let's see what happens. Perhaps they'll respond and our group might be able to get a Group Selfie with our guy?
Hope to see you all there - remember to wear SOMETHING ORANGE so that your fellow kossacks can find you!
It's a 13,000 seat venue and the campaign today noted that 10,000 RSVPs have already been received.
It'll be my first big campaign event I've attended in person since I took my late mother to see WA State US Senator Patty Murray and Vice President Joe Biden at Pearson Airpark Museum in Vancouver, WA in (iirc) 2010, the last time she was up for re-election. We got seats about eight feet from the Veep & Patty. My mom kept waving and grinning and finally, after about twenty minutes of it, the VP looked right at her and gave her his noted "thumbs up" gesture and a big old grin. She was thrilled.
Hope to see you all there!
