I live in Laramie, Wyoming, about a 1000 miles away from the worst of the fires this year but I feel like I am living next door. A golden dirty brown haze has settled over the world. My normally crisp mountain views are as blurry as mountains on a smoggy day in Los Angeles. At sunset the sky glows deep maroon. The air feels harsh to breathe even with an air filter and humidifier running.
A huge shoutout to all the firefighters risking their lives to contain and battle the fires. Even a 1000 miles away, we benefit from your actions.
