It's not often that Republicans get it right, but this just might be one of those cases.
Hugh Hewitt, former Executive Director of The Richard M. Nixon Library and "christianist" conservative radio host of The Hugh Hewitt Show, interviewed Senator Lindsey Graham today. Before delving into his main topic of discussion, defense, Hewitt took a moment to ask him, "What's your opinion on what [Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis] ought to do here, Senator?"
With a surprising lack of nuance or equivocation, Graham replied, “As a public official, comply with the law or resign.”
Momentarily taken aback, Hewitt soon inquired, "So no middle ground, the rule of law is the rule of law?"
“The rule of law is the rule of law,” Graham stated. “That's what we are, we are a rule of law nation and I appreciate her conviction and I support traditional marriage but she's accepted a job where she has to apply the law to everyone and that's her choice.”
It doesn't get much clearer than that.
“As a public official, comply with the law or resign.” - Senator Lindsey Graham (R)
Whoda thunk it...
PS - None of this "He must be gay" shit: You know how offensive that is, like there's something to be ashamed of if he is, right????? Hypocrite or not, it's his personal business and you know NOTHING about whether he is or isn't, so keep it tic-a-lock, OK?
