Kanisha Allen and her family enjoying their camping trip before their hateful neighbors arrived.
What started as a family camping adventure turned into a nightmare in a California campground over the weekend. Kanisha Allen's family were holding a reunion at the Rollins Lake campground, where they say the family was having a great time until a group showed up on their second night and set-up camp in the spot next to them. From there, things took a
very nasty turn:
Then the next night, one man in particular started to yell at Allen's family, using even more hateful language.
"I didn't come here to sleep next to any F-ing Ns, (is what he said)," Allen recalled.
The family took their complaints to campground managers and things got even worse:
"Whatever was said infuriated the main aggressor of the group, and all you hear is him saying the 'n' word, 'I'm going to kill you F-ing Ns,'" Allen said.
That was when the man started to run toward their campsite, holding what Allen thought was a shot gun.
The family tried to escape the man, Allen's mother was injured when she tripped running away. Police arrived as the man was trying to leave. Thus far, he has not been arrested. The District Attorney is still considering charges and the Allen family hopes they follow through because they genuinely feared for their lives:
"They didn't think that he was drunk, and didn't find any weapons on him and for some reason or another decided to let him go ... We expressed that we had feared for our lives, you know? And still nothing was done at that point," Allen said.
The racist campers have been banned from the campground. Let's hope the District Attorney and the Sheriff's office complete their investigation and file charges this week.
