Old ideas not working? Why don't we try the same old ideas?
Ohio Governor John Kasich is a pretty terrible governor with a terrible record at being governor. He's got terrible ideas like running for president but talking about what he would do to teachers if he were elected King of America. Fortunately, even in an Alice In Wonderland, Through The Looking Glass, world where John Kasich gets elected, he still couldn't be king since ... you know, the history of ideas and facts and that American Revolution. But bad ideas is what makes the Republican Party the Grand Old Party. Candidate Kasich was asked about marijuana legalization proposal that will be on his home state's ballot this fall.
"It sends mixed messages to young people about drugs," Kasich told MLive.com on Tuesday as he wrapped up a two-day swing through Michigan. "I don't think we should do that. We need to tell young people to stay off drugs."
Change is confusing. Here's how it's a confusing message.
"So some drugs are okay but others aren't? We've got kids. Why don't we just say don't do drugs, period," Kasich said.
Why don't we? We have. For no less than 30 years that has been exactly our policy as a country. It's been working like gangbusters, if by
working like gangbusters you mean getting worse, destroying families and communities, and forcing our sitting
president to make drastic moves like commuting prison sentences to alleviate decades of terrible policy.
